‘How can it be bad to read tragic novels?’ Some may ask. But what I am going to say is from my experience.

What I felt after reading tragic novels for several sessions is ‘DEPRESSION’.

I became so demotivated that I did not read any books after 10th grade for at least 2 years. After that, I started by reading many fluff romances. And that’s how I escaped that stage.

Reading too many tragic or BE (Bad Ending) novels has some very negative influences on our mental health.

  1. Emotional Overload: Immersing yourself in BE stories can make you emotionally exhausted or even depressed, especially if you’re already dealing with personal challenges.
  2. Negative Thought Patterns: Being constantly watching negative emotions and outcomes can lead to negative thought patterns in your own life.
  3. Lack of Balance: A diet of solely tragic literature will leave you feeling pessimistic or hopeless. You will feel very demotivated.
