Doing the same thing again and again. We are all doing This every day and that makes us feel so bored. But that doesn’t mean we cannot do something that makes those tasks less boring. Just some simple can make us more energetic while dealing with those things.

1. Mix Things up:

  • Schedule Variations: try to break down your long task if it’s more than 2 hours into small, distinct activities and alternate between them throughout the day. But if you can do the thing in 1 to 1.5 hours you should do the work there and then. There is no need to make it small cause it’ll be more unproductive to do so.
  • Change the Environment: Changing your environment isn’t just about physical location. It can be as simple as rearranging your furniture or changing the genre of music you listen to while working. Or you can try to work outdoors where there are enough nature’s touch.
  • Try out New Tools and Techniques: Take a look at apps, software, or online tools that can assist with your task. Watching and geting new tools give us joy. I think it’s like getting a toy for children.

2. Micro-challenge :

  • A clear outline: Sometimes not having a clear outline or direction for your work irritates you. So, if the task is somewhat bigger first create an outline for your work. Don’t work blindly.
  • Make a challenge: Not having a challenge makes your work much boring. So, you have to set a challenge for yourself. And what challenge you make that’s on you. You can set a timer and try to finish the task as quickly as possible. Or you can gamify your whole task. And how to do it you can look it up on the internet.
  • Reward Yourself: Rewarding yourself doesn’t mean anything special. It means after finishing the task you can do this and that. That is what a reward is. Such as after finishing the task you can watch YouTube or have a pizza etc.

3. Focus on the bigger picture 🙄 :

Remember your “Why”: Try to remember why are you doing this? Is it for the money? Then after finishing the task you can money and with that money, you can make more money. Just imagine what’s that you wanna achieve.

Connect with Others: Find a community or accountability partner who shares your goals or is engaged in a similar activity. Check online groups and forums. If you are a writer join writer’s groups. If you’re a programmer join programmers groups. By watching their struggles and challenges may make you feel a sense of comradeship. That’ll make you more motivated.

Track Your Progress: Keep a journal or use a progress tracker to document your journey. Chart your milestones, record your achievements, and note your challenges. Seeing your progress visualized, from day one to the present is a powerful reminder of how far you’ve come and motivates you to keep going.

4. Accept the boringness:

Acceptance: Accept that some tasks are inherently repetitive. You just have to keep doing it. Fighting against this reality only creates frustration. If you accept that that task is necessary for you and it’s like eating and drinking then you won’t that repulsed by the task.

The routine : There’s a certain beauty in the rhythm of repetitive tasks. It can be almost hypnotic, like a calming mantra. Accept this rhythm and let it wash over you, allowing your mind to settle into a peaceful state. It’s almost like a ritual or meditation.

• Daydream : Consider using repetitive tasks as quiet time for introspection and creative thinking. Don’t underestimate the power of daydreaming during routine tasks. Let your mind wander freely, explore unusual connections, and play with ideas. Sometimes, the most creative sparks ignite when our conscious mind is less occupied.
